What Troy had to say about his training, lifestyle, and passion for skiing prior to graduating high school from Gould Academy in 2010:
Mainly I would call myself a competitive freestyle skier, but I skateboard and ride dirt bikes for fun. I first became interested in freestyle skiing when I was 9 or so and I joined the Gould Academy Weekend Program at Sunday River Ski Resort. I have been skiing and competing ever since- about 9 years total, and skiing competitively for 7. I currently train at Sunday River Ski Resort but I compete all across the country. I train year round. I start in the summer with dry land training to get in shape for the ski season. I then do some camps with the Gould Academy Freestyle Team. The camps usually start out with Water Ramps in Lake Placid to learn and qualify the new tricks I will do the next season. After Water Ramps we head out to either Whistler, British Columbia or to Mt. Hood Oregon to get some on snow training up on the glaciers. After that I come home, do some more dry land training, and wait for the snow to fall so I can train and compete for real. Besides skiing, I try to jump on the skateboard or dirt bike as much as I can in the summer. Other than that I am pretty much up for anything active that keeps me as far away from boredom as possible.
Currently, Troy lives in Park City Utah and is a part of the USA Ski Team.
